It is with deep sorrow that the Essex Jewish Community Council wishes Lady Elaine Sacks and the family long life and our deepest condolences on the loss of former Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. Lord Sacks was a frequent visitor to our Shuls and community, and his words of wisdom will continue to inspire for many years to come, and zichron livracha – may his memory be a blessing.
Welcome to the Essex Jewish Community – a community that has a long history but a great future.
A community that had its origins in the East End of London, and now growing into new areas such as Buckhurst HIll, Loughton and Epping and beyond – as well as serving communities closer to the city – and served by rapid transport links, including the new Elizabeth Line.
Essex and North-East London is becoming the place to settle and bring up families – Jewish schools, Shuls and access to the City and West End, as well as beautiful forest countryside.
